Vintage Design
A finely carved late 20th century walnut commode in the French provincial Louis XV style particular to Nimes. The commode of bombe form with carved canted corners flanking four long drawers, each decorated with carved cartouches that frame the scrolling bronze drawer pulls and escutcheons. The shaped apron is carved on three front sides, with the front having a central pierced shell with scrolling foliage, all raised on carved cabriole legs terminating in pads.
