Writing Dresser or Desk in Mahogany, Early 19th Century

Large dressing table of solid mahogany character and mahogany bramble veneer. Richly carved, the upper element consists of a large rectangular and swivel mirror. It is surrounded by a tab cutting frame, bundle of crazy crafted moldings and an turbulent cutting inwards. This original mercury mirror carries the traces of time. It is summoned with a pediment made up of a large shell accompanied by scrolls and surrounded by a large sculpted solid mahogany structure, allowing thanks to beautiful chisel bronze butterflies to pivot it. The base of this element is two large heads of griffins facing each other, holding a garland of flower in their beak. The sculptures of this ornamental entourage resemble rods accompanied by scrolls.
In the lower part, this rare piece of furniture is summoned with a white carrare, rectangular and dug in bowl, with rounded angles. His periphery has a double half-round with hollow.
The mahogany rancid veneer belt opens with a large drawer equipped with a lock and an original key in operation.
We discover inside storage lockers on the sides and in the center, a dark sliding tablet of camel leather with golden thumbnail and a large space hidden below.
This hairdresser is also noticed by these sculpted solid mahogany feet. The two front feet impress by their curved shape and their large acanthus leaves. The rear feet are straight. The whole overlooks a solid and eventful base plated in an open book, highlighting the symmetry of the venage.
Its finesse of execution and its carved ornaments will delight connoisseurs looking for unique and charismatic furniture.
