A stylish English Arts and Crafts ‘quaint’ beech and fruitwood rush-seated armchair, with waved and pierced design splat. Probably made in High Wycombe. Circa 1900.

The chair has the original finish which has been lightly waxed. It is in very good condition, showing some wear on the finish as expected. It has no damage or woodworm. All of the joints are tight. Due to the design there is some slight movement, but the chair is very usable.

The rush seating is good. There are a few strands with loss to the front, but this is minimal, please refer to the photographs.

The term ‘quaint’ was commonly used to describe some art furniture designs in Britain and America that were popular in the late 19th to early 20th century.

This antique Italian Rococo 18th century (1740 circa) throne armchair sourced in a palazzo in Rome, features swirls, curls and foliate motif richly hand carved throughout, the solid wood deeply carved and pierced boasts a super chic mecca gilding with silver leaf. The high backrest and the slightly curved armrests are beyond decorative with the important crest worked on top and its rocaille design. Overstuffed back and seat upholstered in mustard yellow velvet guarantee full comfort. Solid and sturdy, X stretcher solid wood connecting the cabriolet legs strengthen the seating stability. Elegant and large, this solid wood armchair with wide seat finished in mecca gilding is decorative and extremely scenographic, a wondeful addition to any room especially in a library, study or office as a luxurious desk chair. Perfect structural condition, very good antique condition considering age and use, wonderful original patina and mecca gilding. In our opinion some minor wear to the gilding do nothing but accentuates the solemn character of this antique piece of furniture, upon your request we can provide a conservative restoration service with a little extra. A renovated armchair from the 1960s of the people’s republic of poland. Iconic fox – model 300-190 designed by henryk lis. This time we renovated it in a very bold style – velor upholstery, colorful lava. Dark walnut frame. The backrest is profiled so that it is thicker at the bottom and narrows towards the top. Thanks to this, it is very comfortable to sit on, it even has health properties for the spine.

Sophisticated set of two Danish wooden armchairs with integrated black wooden arm rests by Hans Wegner for Plan Mobler. These chairs were designed in 1947 for the Town Hall of Aarhus from which this model owes its name. The nicely shaped wooden frame is upholstered with its authentic but worn olive green velvet fabric. The upholstery can be easily renewed with a high quality fabric for long-lasting pleasure and seating comfort. Except of the present fabric, the condition of this set may be considered as very good, with only minor wear consistent its age and use. with its timeless design the chairs fit in any eclectic oriented interior as arm chairs or side chairs.
