If you are looking for a truly stylish and top quality crafted bookcase, then this fully dismountable, solid oak specimen with inlaid details and sculptural door panels of teakwood could be perfect. The striking, rectangular design is typical for the Dutch Amsterdam Arts & Crafts era, but what makes this one of a kind bookcase stand out from all others are the hand carved and meaningful panels in each of the three doors. We feel that the artist whom created these wonderful carved panels is telling us that reading books will guaranty you a lifetime of learning. In the door panel on the left is a young female reading and learning, in the door panel on the right is a young male reading and learning and in the panel in the middle are two elders, probably teaching each other what they learned in the course of their lifes. Looking at it like this, reading is and has always been a very important part of human evolution and that is what makes this unique bookcase extra special. Have you also noticed the unique, geometrical style in which the artist/sculptor portrayed the people here? Another unique feature are the bird’s-eye maple veneered, wooden backs inside this bookcase. This timeless bookcase stands as strong and firm as the day it was handcrafted and apart from some wear (consistent with age and use) it is in good condition and ready for you to use and enjoy. With three doors shutting perfectly and with perfect working locks and keys this 15 shelves, antique bookcase will take great care of your favourite books. The original and stylish brass keys are all signed A.Boonstra, Amsterdam. We have not yet heard of this maker, but it could also be that this is the name of the first owner of this Arts & Crafts beauty.
Easily (dis)mounted, this bookcase can be placed in any room you like and this practical feature also guarantees that it will remain in good condition when you decide to move house. This Arts & Crafts bookcase really ticks all the boxes and if you like it as much as we do then you will love our price.
Especially when taken into account that perfect packing (in custom made crates) and also free & fast delivery from our store to any address in Europe, Canada and the USA are complimentary.
