Swedish Art Nouveau dining table constructed from solid birch featuring adjustable sizing with a flap on each side of the table top. Produced in 1912 by Nordiska Kompaniet for the Gasworks of Stockholm and their main offices, which were designed by the renowned architect Ferdinand Boberg. The renowned Swedish department store Nordiska Kompaniet, NK, opened in Stockholm in 1902. It played a significant role in introducing modern and innovative retail practices to Sweden, bringing the concept of a department store to the city and offering a wide range of goods under one roof. The company had their workshops in Nyköping, which were known for their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to quality. NK often collaborated with renowned designers to create unique and innovative pieces. These collaborations resulted in furniture and decor items that were highly sought after and considered design classics.
