A beautiful torchére / candle holder designed by Bertel Lindholm and made by the leading Finnish metal and wrought iron workshop Taidetakomo A. Hakkarainen in the 1930s. Bertel Lindholm was a prominent Finnish designer from the first generation who lead the way for Finnish design and layer designers to world fame. This design is absolutely beautiful and delicate, featuring hanging leaf decorations from iron hanging from rotating candle holder arms in a way that they allow the canddles to be on different axis. Please see photos. A simple beauty for your home or garden.
The archive picture is of the same model but of a table version instead of this floor version, it is from the Ornamo yearly book by the Finnish Decorative Artists Society. This item could be a commissioned work as it does not appear in the Hakkarainen catalogue.
Taidetakomo A. Hakkarainen was one of the main competitors to Taito, later Idman and Orno, especially in domestic lighting although they did a few public projects. The company had a range of top Finnish designers working and commissioning lamps and other furniture there.
