Vintage Design
A beautiful solid oak breakfront bookcase from the Edwardian period. Sat on very bold ogee bracket feet which sweep up into four full length astragal glazed doors, the bottom panels to the sides having wonderfully carved urns and foliage, The corresponding carving is set within the superb cornice which terminate in the original pediments. There is a great amount of shelving which is all adjustable. Other features that befit this fine piece are the reeded canted corners that rise into the dentil cornice which also has crisply carved detail to the corners. Although large and heavy, it does break down into manageable pieces for transportation and setting up. The uppermost pediment measures 24cm if it needed to be removed.
