About artist:
The Thomas Phototype was one of the production and business lines of what is known as Casa Thomas, founded in 1882 by the printer Joseph Thomas i Bigas (1852, Barcelona – 1910, Bern). A restless and perfectionist man, Thomas i Bigas trained in the most innovative printing techniques that were being developed at his time and even devised new forms of printing; especially with regard to the reproduction of the photographic image.
