As promised in one of our other listings, here is the original and unique display or tea cabinet from ‘t Modelhuis by Jewish maker Napoleon le Grand. From the same home we also have a solid nutwood ladies desk with matching chair, which now also is listed on 1stdibs. Work from this Amsterdam based, Jewish furniture maker from the early 20th century is extremely hard to find and his pieces never fail to impress. This solid oak display cabinet is inlaid with crisp, geometrical motifs and also with stunning, stylized animals on all sides. From this maker in general and with these inlaid animals in particular, only very few pieces are known in the world today. This fine specimen has a few minor imperfections, but the unique craftsmanship and the stunning inlaid animal sculptures are an absolute joy to look at. The combination of the design, the fresh colours and the incredible craftsmanship that it breathes, simply lifts your spirit in a way that no contemporary piece ever could.
This display cabinet has folding doors on both sides and both come with the original beveled glass panels. Former owners have screwed one door tight with one screw (from the inside). Unscrewed, all it takes is a small chain to help that folding door to stop at the right height. We can take care of this, if you wish.
Mind you, our price for this museum worthy cabinet includes perfect packing (in a custom made box or crate) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days.
Maximum height x width x depth: 28.3 x 25.2 x 16.5 inches.
We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
