Solid mahogany chairs with ebony, birch and mother-of-pearl inlay, these are part of a suite which includes a matching loveseat and a set of six matching side chairs, available separately. Created at the beginning of the 20th century, the design is the Swedish cousin of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s designs in Scotland or Gustav Stickley’s designs in the United States. Mission, Arts and Crafts, Liberty, Jugendstil, Secession and Art Nouveau were all expressions of the same aesthetics which dominated the art and design world from 1900 until the start of the first world war.
