It really does not matter whether you are a collector of Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Jugendstil or Arts & Crafts, because this amazing set will appeal to anyone who loves early twentieth century, applied arts. If you look at the lines in the designs of both the desk and chair then you will notice many subtle and really interesting features that make these pieces really stand out. Take, for example, the fact that the cabinets on both sides of the desk have no legs to the inside. This not only makes this desk more open, practical and spacious, it also creates a kind of ‘floating look and feel’ to this desk.
Apart from the truly beautiful design there ofcourse also are the stunning, inlaid, geometrical motives of satin and ebonized wood. These inlaid motives accentuate the design and they lift the grandeur of this ladies desk and chair to a whole new level. All the brass handles too are beauitiful in design and color and all doors and drawers still open and shut perfectly too. The cherry on top of this pie is the fact that even the original keys with the MH logo and monogram of ‘t ModelHuis are still with the desk. We have never seen another key like these. With these keys all doors and drawers can still be locked.
We are certain that Napoleon Le Grand (1857-1932) would be extremely proud to see that one of his masterpieces has been so well looked after and is now presented to the world for the first time. This desk and chair only have minor imperfections, which is why we have no hesitation in calling this set of museum quality and condition. This ladies set, however, is not only great to look at, because it is also highly practical and ready to use. Some chances you only get once in your life and this most certainly is one of them. Our fair price for this unique set even includes perfect packing (in a custom made crate with cushions) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days.
