Vintage Design
Magnificent and very hard to find pair of Art Deco Bauhaus Model 409 lounge chairs. Design by Willem H. Gispen for Gispen. Striking Dutch design from the 1930s. Original cantilever chrome-plated tubular steel frames with original long bakelite armrests. The four cushions are re-upholstered in black Manchester corduroy fabric. This wonderful pair of Art Deco Bauhaus Model 409 lounge chairs by Willem H. Gispen for Gispen is in very good condition and the chrome has a beautiful patina, no rust or spots at all. In fact, we have had never before a pair of Gispen lounge chairs in this outstanding condition! Our gallery is a family-owned and managed company which has been dedicated to dealing in 20th Century Decorative Arts since it’s foundation in the late 1920s.
