Original Thonet Piano Stool, Early 20th Century, Restaured

Black piano stool from the traditional company Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna from the beginning of the 20th century.

The piano stool is made of black lacquered wood and has a frame with a bentwood ring. The curved feet are held together by the wooden ring made of curved wood. The stool is heavy and very stable. Height adjustable from 46 cm to approx. 64 cm with a long spindle. The seat is made of so-called Viennese wickerwork, the other parts are made of solid beech wood. In this early model the seat ring is still supported by cross-shaped wood; in later models these were replaced by metal. The spindle runs well and has some play.

Condition: The surfaces were renewed using traditional shellac hand polish. All screws are tightened. The hand-woven braid was professionally renewed in a braiding workshop in Schwerin! The stool has the original Thonet embossed stamp and the paper label under the seat.
